Placement Testing - EdReady & ALEKS
The EdReady test is a web-based assessment tool used to determine skills in reading and writing and used to help determine placement for writing (WRTG) and reading (DEVS) courses at ̽»¨×å.
ALEKS placement is used to determine skills in math and is used to help determine placement for math (MATH) course at ̽»¨×å. ALEKS can be taken anytime, on any computer with an internet connection – students can use test center computers if needed.

Pearson VUE
Thousands of tests through Pearson VUE can be taken at CTC locations, 604 Barnette Street and Eielson AFB Education Center. Popular tests include Alaska Insurance, Alaska Real Estate, COMPTIA, Microsoft, and EMT.

Test candidates must register, schedule and pay for your exam with Pearson VUE before arriving at the ̽»¨×å CTC test center. ̽»¨×å CTC will proctor your exam, but will not register you for the exam or take payment.
GED Testing
The GED is a high school equivalency test, recognized in all 50 states. The four subject areas include language arts, math, science and social studies. Earning your GED will improve your standing with potential employers, as well as colleges and universities.

Test candidates must register, schedule and pay for their test with GED Testing Services before arriving to the ̽»¨×å CTC test center. ̽»¨×å CTC will proctor your exam, but will not register you for the exam or take payment.
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification
ASE promotes excellence in automotive service and repair. To become ASE certified, you must pass the certification test in addition to two years of on the job training or a combination of one year on the job training and a two-year degree in automotive repair.

DSST Testing
The DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST) give students the opportunity to earn college credit through testing in specific subject areas.
